Shatrughan Sinha Biography



Early Life:
Shatrughan Sinha born on 9th December 1945 in Patna, Bihar to Bhubaneswari Prasad Sinha and Shyama Devi Sinha. He is the youngest of 4 brothers - Bharat, Ram, Lakshman & himself. Shatrughan was educated in Patna Science College (Bihar). He Moved to Mumbai where he started his career in bollywood industry. He is married to formerly Miss India Poonam Sinha. Apart from being member of Rajya Sabha twice he was also Union Cabinet Minister of Health and Family Welfare (Jan 2003-May 2004) and Shipping (Aug. 2004). He was elected to 15th Lok Sabha in 2009.

Acting Career:
Shatrughan Sinha's first movie was Dev Anand's Prem Pujari. The release of Prem Pujari delayed, so his first release was Sajan in 1969. He was cast along with Poonam Sinha then Komal in the movie Sabak in 1973. He later played in Dulal Guha's Dost (1974) & in Kalicharan (1976).
Shatrughan Sinha was selected by Rediff as one of the most unconcentional actors in Bollywood Cinema.
He joined as a judge on The Great Indian Laughter Challenge show, season 4 in 2008 on Star One Channel.


Political Career:
Shatrughan won the Indian general election from Patna in Bihar. He defeated Shekhar Suman. Shatrughan Sinha received 316472 votes.
He became cabinet minister with the Government of India in 13th Lok Sabha. As of May 2006, Sinha was appointed as the head of the BJP Culture & Arts Department.
